Foam Run 2014

Two weeks ago, Foam run was held at Sentosa Siloso beach. This was my second fun run after Electric run. It was a last minute decision to go for the race, we bought over tickets from a friend who couldn't make it. My initial thoughts was to swim and fumble through lots of foam. When we first arrived at Siloso beach we were trying to locate the starting point/ foam route, which we were disappointed to find none. There were only a 3 stations with foam slides. Shall not dwell further, and flag off for the afternoon 5Km run.

This selfie is so funny, look at how hard A. tried to keep his eyes open. HAHAHA He always manage to shut his eyes at the count of three when we snap for picture.

Along the run, we stopped for photo taking with the beautiful coastline. There wasn't much running involved, we took our time to walk the whole race.

So I was saying there were only three foam stations earlier on. At the second foam station, there was a crazy long queue which lasted close to half an hour wait. So while queuing (I don't know how we started the conversation), but I think someone saw this dance pose online where the guy can support the girl on her knee.

So we tried to improvised...

So romantic! But can you imagine the stares we attracted, the people queuing behind us must be thinking WTH is wrong with these people! Haha YOLO moment. We were coerced to try out too and by the time we were doing, the crowd behind got bored, so no one was staring anymore.

Mandatory jump pose! Hmmm not exactly a challenging run but yay to completing even though we walked through out.

How you do a perfect jump shot: 

1) Keep you perfect smile, just smile before jumping so the camera don't capture weird candid expression.

2) Just jump regardless if your partner is ready, at least you can crop him/her out later.

3) Look at A's face when he doesn't follow point 1 and 2. Now I can a) crop him out or b) laugh at his retarded expression! 

Shall give him a nicer photo of him jumping at the expenses of me having a fake mustache!

Ice cream cookie! Chocolate chip with vanilla ice-cream! I prefer the Aftereight flavour though and I was upset that mine was the smallest amongst all. I was upset because I am so greedy, hahaha.

After the foam run, we hang around the beach and played beach volleyball. I am not very good with volleyball and haven't played since JC. I am not exactly a fan of it because usually after a game, I will get bruises all over my arms. I think I mastered how to serve and so I was asked to serve a lot, resulting in huge bruises on my wrist as if I was being abused:( Nevertheless, I had great fun with my new friends. 

We were all famished at the end of the day and decided to go for some hot BKT comfort food. Look at how much food we ordered. Some of them were worried that we can't finish the food but as usual, I thought to myself "confirm can luh, I will help to finish all the food" and indeed I did.

Two weeks ago was TRDO preliminary heats and SIM DanceArt sent two teams down this year. F.O.M.T were one of the team. Initially our group name was Sungirls, sound so Taiwanese, as the team consist of only guy, Son and the girls. Hence Sungirls. But we objected because we were afraid that we will burst out laughing when the emcee announced our group name before our item. Hence we appeal and change to F.O.M.T! Everyone is supposed to come up with a suggestion and shuwei under pressure, randomly shout out F.O.M.T! To her surprise most of us voted for F.O.M.T except herself. I thought our name is quite meaningful because it meant For One More Time.

Thank you team for staying true to our own soul and being honest. I am glad we had put in our best at the moment on stage. Despite not being able to get the through to the finals, I am sure we all grow and learn from this journey. Thank you Nicholas, our choreographer for his beautiful story, and constantly pushing us to explore our awkward zones. I think each and every one of us in F.O.M.T will always remember what you taught us- to ALWAYS dance with soul.

Thank you Jo and Cand cand for coming down to root for us. Thank you these girls for believing in me and even though most of us have graduated and step into the workforce, we still continue to dance. And fuel after the heats at old airport market! They have lots of local delicacies and I was so spoilt with choices. I love it when there's a wide spread of food in front of me, it whips up my appetite!

Finals for TRDO Chapter 4 is this Saturday 14 June @ Kallang Theatre, support the dance scene in Singapore! So looking forward to a whole new level of exploration!
