Continuing from the last BKK post, this is going to be a pictorial post- lots of photos on food!
The moment we walked out from our hotel we saw a few food trolley selling carrot cake. A. loves cheap street food and I have been to BKK so many times but I never eat it before. So we decided to get one along our way to our breakfast place.
Their carrot cake is different from our local hawker delight. It is crispier with crunchy fresh vegetables accompanied with green chili sauce which is quite flavourful. But I still love the black carrot cake in SG.

Got distracted again and bought my fav coconut ice-cream with extra topping. This explains why we didn't managed to get to our intended breakfast place. After getting lots of street food, we headed back to the suit making place for fitting before we continued our day.
First proper meal was at Som Tam Nua @ Siam Square. My friend highly recommended me this thai restaurant and demanded that I try the chicken wings. Btw, I was so in love with my new floral head wreath which I got it at 100baht @ Platinum mall!
We ordered papaya salad, vermicelli salad, khao niao to go along and CHICKEN WINGS!!!!
I am so in love with the chicken wings I can have one plate on my own. Crispy and very well marinated. It tasted almost like our tze char prawn paste chicken wing. Dae bak!!!
Spicy papya salad, I was so full because I kept drinking water with every mouth of salad. I have to admit that I can't take chili or spice very well especially dishes with red chili. But despite tearing and sweating I still continued to finish all the food. I am sure you guys have that experience before, think about the one time you went to conquer the different level of buffalo wings... We like the papaya salad which has dried shrimps and fried fish skin(I think so), sweet, spicy, crunchy, crispy all in one plate.
After lunch, we headed to Mr Jones Orphanage @ Siam square for desserts. The whole decoration ties back to their name, toys and teddy with a galore of desserts when you enter.
The bill came in this beautiful, antique box, like a donation box concept.
The table beside us ordered the kitkat monster and it looks amazing. I was so tempted to order but it lookd huge and I have been craving for larva cake the longest time so I gave it a miss.
After feeding ourselves silly, we continued the crazy shopping spree at Platinum mall. I really love Platinum mall and can shop there all day. There were so many stalls and even though the prices are getting slightly steeper than before, the style of clothes and choices offered were also wider. Found a couple of blogshop steals here at half the price, score! HAHA. What more, they have extended to another building, if you have not already know, they have platinum mall 3.
A. was asking for a break and he subtly asked if I want to have a drink/coffee. Yes I got that hint pretty quickly and we settled down for a coffee break to save both our legs.
Then it was street food for dinner. I like their BBQ glazed pork chop, our everyday snack.
Singaporean favourite instant noodle. We ordered a bowl of seafood Tom Yum noodle with lots of ingredients.
Our daily activities, eat, shop, eat, shop and MASSAGE. On the third day, we finally treated ourselves for Thai massage. A. went for Thai massage whereas I had oil thai massage. I personally feel that it hurts a lot without any lotion or oil applied due to the friction. I enjoy massage that pressed on our acupuncture and followed through, secretly enjoying the pain. Both A. and I were very satisfied after the massage and we had a good night sleep after that.
Watergate spa is of walking distance from my hotel and Platinum mall. They operate till 12 midnight. We paid 500 baht for thai massage and additional 200 baht for oil thai massage. You are welcome to tip their masseur if you enjoyed the massage.
Till the next update on our last two days in BKK.
XOXO
