Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee- I hopped on the Craze

Two Fridays ago, I managed to convince my boss to have lunch at Kin Kin Pan Mee. I tried it once before and I fell in love with the bowl of dry pan mee. I have been craving for itlately and I literally exclaimed with joy when my boss said let's go try kin kin pan mee! Haha we made Kenny to drive us there since it wasn't really near our work place. I kept telling them it is really near if you drive, everywhere is near if you drive though!

Whenever I order ban mian I will go for the soup one because I find it very dry and flourish because the noodles will stick together. I was often left disappointed with the dry ban mian. Even for the famous ban mian at city mall didn't win my heart. Until…

The perfect poached egg with funny egg yolk. Breaking the egg yolk and toss it well with the black minced meat and meat balls. I love their ican bilis together with their signature chili. I can't take spicy food very well but I really enjoyed it eating the noodle with lots of chili. Is really worth the spice, sweat and tears. We also ordered a bowl of fish ball soup to share, super big and bouncy fish ball but I am not very appreciative of fish ball, I prefer Fuzhou fish ball or meat balls.

Also my team's new intern is an excellent baker. She even attended baking course at Le Cordon Bleu, SAY WHUT!?!? She baked a perfect batch of macaroons which has such smoothie-licious shell.

We were attempting to style our macaroons for photo shoot time lol!

Guava lemon flavour was it, and yes mind blowing macaroons and not overly sweet, tasted so fresh so good I wished there was more to spare and calories are non existence.

Sometimes I really envy people who can bake or cook and I wish I can also whip up a meal or bake a perfect cake. But I don't have that patience and interest to do so. I am better at tasting it, best finishing all for you.

Maybe I will task her to make me a better baker. Friends who knows me will know that I am terrible in the kitchen and they often reject my kind help in the kitchen. 越帮越忙...

Sweet post

Over the past few months, ever since I've decided to revive my blog, I diligently snap pictures of the food, desserts and things I do so I can do up a blog post. Okay kidding, I am a Singaporean and I am an Instagram addict so I have been snapping all my pictures to put up posts like these. I put in more effort and start bringing out the Olympus Pen out so I can shot more photos for blog entries. I am going to list down a couple of ice-cream/ dessert places I have visited. Some of these places are familiar to you.

Creamier

I am sure Creamier needs no introduction. It is always always crowded and has becomethe new fav ice-cream spot for the locals. They are famous for their ice-cream with waffles, a double scoop one.

Selfie using my pretty old canon G12 with the flipped screen. I am so tempted to trade in my canon to a DSLR since I am using my sis's Olympus pen mini  as a compact camera now.

We both ordered double scoop of ice-cream with waffles so that it will look pretty for photo.

Front up was pistachio and Sea salt Guala Malaca. I love the pistachio which has the right milkiness and richness. Some places has overly milky taste which only makes it super gelat.

I ordered banana roasted pecan and richest dark chocolat ferrero! Love love dark chocolate that had this premium taste. I don't like milk chocolate especially white chocolate. I am born greedy because when I was young, there was once I pop lots of milk chocolate down and in the middle of the night and woke up to vomit after. Ever since that incident, I stop eating milk chocolate unless they comes with nuts, chips or something to chew with.

Wipe out!

Disclaimer: I did not punch A., neither did I make him cry, he was just having really bad sinus.  Haha he was like a reindeer that night.

Selfie to end our night of dessert supper!

Windowsill Pies

I love the dessert pies from windowsill pies. The last time we came, we had S'mores the best seller, super sweet but I like it with camarelized almond brittle.

I ordered Banana Almond Brittle and Grasshopper this time round. Sweet banana mousse with salty caramel and crunchy nuts! Love to bite on caramelized nuts! Grasshopper sounds disgusting but not our pies from windowsillpies. Similar to aftereight concept: fourless chocolate cake base topped with a light fresh mint cream.

The Book Cafe

Sometime back we visited Book cafe on a cozy Sunday to kill some time before Mother's Day dinner. This is a place where you can hibernate, to read a book or to catch up on your korean craze. Eversince my visit to Afteryou, I am crazily in love with Shibuya toast and so I went ahead to try all Shibuya toasts when I chanced upon. Not very much impressed by Book Cafe's version, I guess there wasn't enough butter or maybe they are just not well spread across.

Udders

Undeniably one of the favourite dessert spot in the West. They serve really nice waffles with unique ice-cream flavours. Try their durian Mao Shan Wang for some authentic local flavours. My top 3 favourite from udders: Rum & Rasin, strawberry fields, snickers mars honeycomb vanilla.

They have opened many branches all around Singapore. Visit their website for more details.

Udders

Alfero Artisan Gelato

Just a few doors away from Udders along Lor Kilat road has another Italian Alfero Artisan Gelato. Only tried their belgium waffle with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream, very classic choice but it hasn't exactly blown be away. Not so much fan of their waffles, as you can see it wasn't very nicely done or plate.  But perhaps will give it a try for their ice-cream someday.

Ice Cream & Cookie Co.

Cookie Ice-cream:
I love the after eight flavour and our slightly soggy cookie paired with the ice-cream.

Vanilla bean ice-cream with chocolate chip cookie.

They have expanded their business and make their prodcuts available at various cafes and restaurants around us. VIsit their website to find out on where to buy these sinfully made desserts.

Spathe | Vanilla cafe and bar

Vanilla Bar & Cafe

Last weekend we(#brunchdategirls) gathered at Vanila Bar & Cafe to discuss our upcoming Taiwan trip. They used to provide free wifi for their diners but they have stopped this service recently.
Vanila Bar& Cafe is a cozy area tucked between the shop houses at CBD area, along Amoy street.

One of its server found out that we are actually planning for our upcoming TW trip. He stayed in TW for a couple of months before and was really excited and passionate about TW. He gave us a list of places to visit, food to try and things to do.

They have a cozy outdoor seating. But Singaporeans always enjoy the invention of AC.

One of the unique dessert, durian creme brûlée. Nicely torched layer with strong durian flavour and not overly sweet. I love to share dessert with my girls, because it means sharing of calories too!

Chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice-cream. Warm fuzzy cake was served, no hot chocolate flowing out though. Okay I really need to go Miam Miam and try their chocolate larva cake.

After being productive with all the planning, we made our way to Spathe for dinner. Initial plan was to go to Rosevelt but they were fully booked that night. So glad that I drove out that night, making travelling a lot more convenient but damn I got a parking summon.

Pasta- tomato based with Mozerella cheese. I like the chunky Mozerella cheese melted and fuse within the tomato sauce.

Pork belly that came along with mashed potato! I love mashed potato and was really excited to try. Pork belly was tender and well marinated paired with the creamy mashed potato and a poached egg.

Garlic fries, it smells really good. However all of us agreed that the garlic taste wasn't as strong as it smells. Wenhui who came before said that the fries didn't taste as good as her last visit.

Chicken waffle- I kinda like this dish. The waffle isn't sweet like a belgium waffle as it is a savoury waffle that was paired with fried chicken. An egg was added upon WH's request.

All of us were busy snapping pictures and Beverly who got so irritated waiting said "I am going to get angry!" Haha, sorry babe we still continuing snapping, slightly faster.

Birthday cake for Wenhui who was suppose to be surprised hahaha but super fail process. We ordered two slices of cake when we reached and requested to get it served with candle upon request.
So when dessert was served, the mocha cake was served without a candle. I thought they have forgotten our request and said we didn't order the cake so he can sent it back but Shu said we did. We exchanged glances and knew that we were busted. But anyway later when they serve the red velvet cake, it was nicely decorated with a candle! Yay!

Happy birthday Lovethekisses, may you continue to do what you like, live the moment and less creepy stalker.HAHA.

Ootd shots, pester Jolene to snap many photos for me so I can choose one to post on IG. I am such a social media addict now.
