Almost everyone who just came out from school and enter the workforce would agree this problem with me- weight gain. The long hours of sitting at your desk with little movements will eventually lead to weight gain. This is almost inevitable, and with some snacking (I can never curb myself from this) everything contributed to my weight gain. Despite walking from time to time during working hours, I have put on quite a bit of weight and with my active cafe hopping lifestyle, I knew I needed to do something before it went out of control. I dare to say I exercise quite regularly as a dancer and before I picked up Skinny Mint, I dance at least 3 times a week, each session last for 3 hours. With work being very hectic, and a packed schedule, I would think that dancing alone should suffice for burning enough calories to shed some weight. Well, it did not happen.
I have tried some other detox tea before, initially it did help on curbing my habit of snacking, but I did not lose much weight nor feel skinnier. Also, my skin condition became really bad after my Taiwan trip and I wanted to detox all the toxins in my body to see if it will help to improve my skin condition. For both aesthetic and health reason I picked up SkinnyMint when an opportunity was presented to me. I have seen a lot of reviews(posts on FB & Instagram) about their positive results from SkinnyMint. I was really excited to embark on this journey.
Embarking on the 28 days teatox programme:
When I first received my parcel, I am so excited to embark on my teatox programme to see a healthier me. The Morning Boost pack smells really fruity and refreshing. It is made up of 8 ingredients(Green tea, Yerba Mate, Nettle Leaves, Dandelion, Guarana Fruit, Grapefruit leaves, strawberry and Pineapple) that helps to boost my metabolism rate and curb my appetite, so I can snack less and eat smaller portions. You can find out the function of each ingredient from here.
I diligently had my morning boost every morning and kept to my exercise regime. It really did curb my habit of snacking especially before lunch. I have also embarked on Bikini Body Challenge circuit training + jogging twice a week. Occasionally practice some yoga poses too!
Attempting a head stand split:
I am one who cannot resist any food temptations. I got to admit I haven't been on a clean diet but what I did to balance out was eating healthily on weekdays e.g. salad for lunch, or home cook dinner with lots of greens and less processed food/fried stuff. Also, eating out less helps! I substitute my snacks with fruits and avoid all drinks except water (they are unnecessary sugar, that includes coffee and bubble tea) I only get to have cheat meals over the weekend. With the help of SkinnyMint and exercising regularly, I managed to see less bloated tummy and that gave me confidence to wear my crop top out (haha). I have a very expendable tummy, it may sounds really ridiculous but I can wake up with a rather flat tummy and go to bed with a 3-months preggy tummy. Some of you may understand the plight I am in and it is rather uncomfortable. I have to give credit to the Night Cleanse to address my bloating issue. Not only that, I feel less guilty if I snack something because I know the night tea will help to rinse the unnecessary toxins out of my body.
Made of 8 ingredients- Ginger Root, Orange Leaves, Lemon grass, Senna leaves, Peppermint, Licorice Roots, Hawthorn berries, Psyllium Husk. Some of you may really dislike the Ginger taste which is pretty strong, but I kinda like the spiciness of this special blend. A small tip for those who is embarking on this night cleanse, if you leave your tea bag in the hot boiling water for too long, it may be too strong for you and may cause diarrhea. This happen to me the first few cup but when I removed it just after 2-3 minutes from the hot water, it will be fine. So yes, night cleanse tea helps to address constipation problem which is really important on a detox programme. This 28 days programmes is really convenient too because all I need is one cup before I leave home and one cup before bed.
